What is authority to leave?Updated 2 months ago

Authority to leave is a delivery option offered by Australia Post that allows your parcel to be delivered without requiring a signature or someone to be present at the time of delivery.

If authority to leave is selected, the delivery driver may leave your parcel in a safe place at your delivery address.

When authority to leave is enabled:

  • Your parcel can be left without a signature
  • The driver will attempt to leave it in a safe location at your address
  • You do not need to be home to receive the delivery

If the driver is unable to find a suitable safe place to leave your parcel, it will be taken to your nearest post office for collection.

*Choosing ATL means your parcel may be left unattended at your address. If you have any concerns about this option, we recommend selecting a delivery method that requires someone to be available to receive the parcel.
